Namco Bandai Games will be releasing One Piece Romance Down for Nintendo 3DS.
I am always hoping that there will be RPG version of popular animes (e.g. Dragon Ball ,One Piece, Toriko) with story as faithful as possible to the original ones.
One Piece Romance Down seems to fulfill my expection. Watching the trailer, this seems to be a retelling of the whole One Piece stories up until Marine Ford Arc. The game will be in action RPG style with turn-based battle. I don’t remember seeing any One Piece game in RPG style so far. Most of them are either fighting or adventure.
Ever dream of these match ups?
Bandai Namco Games will be releasing J-Stars Victory VS for PS3 and PSVita.
The trailer looks amazing and does seem to fulfill the fans’ expectation.
Based on the trailer, the available characters are
- Son Goku (Dragon Ball)
- Monkey D Luffy (One Piece)
- Uzumaki Naruto (Naruto)
- Kurosaki Ichigo (Bleach)
- Toriko (Toriko)
- Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X)
- Sakata Gintoki (Gintama)
- Kankichi Ryotsu (Kochikame)
I hope there will be more characters when the game is released.
Just searching the web out of curiosity and was pretty impressed by how many Final Fantasy games have been made so far. Just take a look at these logos (minus FFXIV,FFXV)
This website even provide you with more details of each logo.
Below are top 8 videos from the recent EVO 2013 championship, arguably the most reputable fighting game tournament in the world.
Personally, I feel the best ones are Street Fighter IV and King of Fighters 2013. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Super Mario Brothers Melee (surprisingly!) are interesting too. Haven’t had a time to watch Persona and Street Fighter x Tekken, though.
I’d like to give further comments on the tournaments, but it’d be better if you watch if yourself without knowing some spoliers.
Really excited to find out that Capcom has decided to remake Strider Hiryu games. It will only be released on early 2014 though.
Check the trailer and gameplay below
This seems like a step in the right direction for Final Fantasy series. The style seems to be very futuristic and unique. Hopefully the story will be good.
And great, no more
MMORPG, no more female lead ( Lightning), and the main lead doesn’t seems to be a bystander ( Van). I am really expecting another legendary Final Fantasy games, like FFVII to FFX.
I hope this will be the best Final Fantasy games since Hironobu Sakaguchi quit. By the way, he found another game company named Mistwalker, which has produced some quality games, e.g. The Last Story (Wii).
Very funky game from Square Enix for Arcade, with full name Chousoku Henkei Gyrozetter (超速変形ジャイロゼッター ).
It is specially equipped with unique controls. At first, you control a car using the steering wheel racing through a course. After finishing the course, your car can transform to a robot to engage in a turn-based fighting with an opponent. To transform into a robot, you can move the steering wheel which will trigger the machine to pull out some extra controllers, which is pretty cool. I hope they will make these machines available overseas too.
An anime based on this game is also being produced.
Some video footages :
Bandai Namco will release a PSP game from the anime Sword Art Online, called Sword Art Online : Infinity Moment. Release date will be on 14 March 2013.
From the video previews, it seems that this game will not be retelling the story from anime. Rather, it occurs in an entirely new world (town with 76 levels?). Possibly, this might also be the continuation from the anime or a side story after the anime finishes.
Gameplay looks similar to .hack game in PS2 with a touch of Persona 3 ‘bonds’ system.
I think most SAO fans will be excited with this game since the anime received a lot of success and requests for sequels.
Here are some previews released by Bandai Namco so far
‘A Capella’, derived from the word ‘chapel’, is basically a song sang by either a person or group without the use of instruments.
Mostly this music is performed by a group of men. Not much women a capella group out there I believe. Some are also performed in solo.
Personally, I really like this style of song, especially the group ones. It’s sorta give you a warm and enjoyable feeling inside.
Unfortunately, It’s pretty rare for anime soundtracks to have an a capella style song. Even if it has, usually it is part of the albums, which is made as alternative rendition of the main theme song.
Here are some of my findings.
One of my favorite types of music is the ones played with classical/acoustic guitar.
However, in anime and game industry, seldom they will make album entirely for guitar arrangements.
Here are some of my findings. Most of them are also accompanied by book with the guitar tabs.
