With recent Chrome update (March 2015), you might experience slow page loading when opening Youtube.
After some google searching, I found out that it was caused by AdBlock chrome extension.
Well, we still need AdBlock to block ads within the YouTube video, but we don’t want the AdBlock to slow down the loading of YouTube page.
My solution is as follow. You need to configure the your AdBlock filters with the following steps :
1. In Chrome, right click on your AdBlock icon and select “Options”
2. In AdBlock options page, go to “Customize” tab
3. In “Manually edit your filters” sections, add the following filters :
The idea of the filters above is to disable AdBlock for the main YouTube page and YouTube channel or user page only. For the watch page (where the video plays), the slowness of page loading doesn’t occur, so we don’t need to filter it out.
The above solutions should be able to keep your AdBlock blocking the in-video ads while preventing the slowness of loading of YouTube pages.
I guess every person can have their own interpretation on this (see the top comments on youtube).
Wow, how did he take this photo? I do not know that camera technology has already progressed so far. It is a 360-degree 150-gigapixel image!
It’s very annoying that some (or most) videos in youtube have advertisement played before you can watch the real video.
Some of those videos even doesn’t allow us to skip the ads after 5 seconds. Why do I want to waste 30 seconds to watch the ads just to watch a 1 minute video ?
To solve this, for those of you who are using google chrome, you can try chrome extension called AdBlock. To enabled blocking of youtube videos, you need to enable it in the settings (Settings >Extensions >AdBlock > options and tick ‘Block popup ads and ads in all videos and in Flash games. Beta’)
I’ve been using this for a week and it seems to work perfectly. Now I can save up a couple of minutes of my life.
Recently, I found out about this accidentally when I was chatting with my friend. He presented me with the formula 500 * (10^3/2^10)^3. I was too lazy to take my scientific calculator or typed in windows calculator. So, I reluctantly pasted this formula in my google chrome bar and press enter..and..bravo..the result was presented in my browser.
This is a feature from Google called Google Calculator. Apparently, more complex mathematical problem such as sine, cosine can also be solved here. More about Google Calculator features can be seen here.
